An apprentice at savers is working in the shop and learning all the different tasks on the shop floor as well as the workbook which is looking at more policies and procedures etc. I learnt a lot of different things that I didn't even think I'd know about.
I've learnt so much about what goes on behind the scenes in a shop and how to do everything on the shop floor. I have also learnt about myself and built up my confidence and skills.
I really enjoyed it; it was a fun and easy way of learning everything and all the people I worked along side were lovely and made me happy to be around. The company is something I am happy to be a part of, my expectations were exceeded.
I feel very valued by savers; after finishing the apprenticeship my manager put in a lot of effort to get more hours so that I could stay. I've received feedback for everything and always positive even when I'm being told I need to improve with something.
The programme was well organised; I knew what I was doing from the start to finish and could always refer back to that and it was clearly stated what I'd completed and what was left to do.
I received all the support I needed; I had help from my colleagues on top of the help from my monthly visit to go over the work I'd done. I'd always get checked up on to see if I was doing ok.
Every time I had questions I was given answers even if they didn't know they'd find out for me. Even with non related problems I felt like I could turn to my managers for help.
I coped with the salary I was on but I would've struggled if I didn't have savings and help from my family to back me up. I didn't have to worry about money for travel to work but if I did it would've been tight.
A few times we've had staff meals out which have been really nice for getting to relax but also get to know the people we spend every day at work with in a better way.
Yes
It's a place where everyone I have spoken to has said they feel welcomed and everyone seems to be happy.
Be yourself and don't be nervous about how much work it looks; by the end of the apprenticeship it doesn't seem anywhere near as much.
