Job title -Identity & Access Management (PGDS) Daily Tasks - Dealing with requests and incidents such as user errors, adding software/permissions, creating/modifying users accounts etc Internal requests for Prudential/PGDS etc External requests for Capita, IFDS and third parties
More confidence speaking on the phone and dealing problems right away without time to think over fully. Better time management skills and prioritising work.
I enjoy it a lot. I enjoy the work experience as appose to school and classes. I like tackling real problems and issues rather than things just to pass a subject
I feel valued in my current job at PGDS as I feel I am treated the same and I am given the same work as users who have been around for a few years.
The qualification side from QA could be a bit more organised as it is sometimes hard to know what you're meant to be doing as our assessor can take time to respond. The apprenticeship itself is going really well and I am progressing faster than expected.
I have had 2 classroom training courses which were beneficial to getting points towards my final qualification. The training from that itself didn't particular help with my job but gave me knowledge of other areas that I did not know before.
A lot of support as my manager is highly interested in what I am doing and I have a mentor assigned to me who does the same role as me which is helping with my on the job training and progression.
Very good for a young person just starting out and the costs are very low for me so very happy with this.
We had a community day which was very good and enjoyable to spend time with different people and the other apprentices. Apart from that we haven't really done anything else which is why I am putting it at mid point as we are only 3-4 months in.
Yes
Very organised and a friendly place to work. Treated equally and you feel like you're making a difference to your team and not just somebody extra.
Stay calm and be yourself in interviews. Managers don't want to see false people who act differently from what they are really like. There is no clear way to get the job other than proving you should get it. Make sure to also ask loads of questions as it shows interest in the job and that you're keen to learn and find out more.
