I am training to become an operator at Melbourne Water Treatment Works in Derbyshire. My job includes general maintainence and operation of my site, spanning from small and simple issues, to complex and crucial decision making.
I have developed a positive working attitude, in a matter of weeks from leaving school. I have quickly learned how to show a pro-active mindset throughout the entire workday.
I enjoy what I do very much, due to the variety of things to do. Many people across the midlands depend on what we do, which makes my job feel like it has purpose. This makes every single job intriguing and exciting.
I feel very valued by my company. Since the first day I have been treated with respect and value. The company seem keen to help me, and respond fast to any issues or question I have.
The structure of the programme is excellent. It is clearly and carefully set out, to develop me as effectively and detailed as possible. I feel this structure will make me a rounded and experienced worker at the end of my apprenticeship, but also, give me plenty of opportunities to progress further in my career.
I feel very much supported by the training provider. The skills are easily transferrable, which makes me trust the supplier. Each tutor has the time and patience to go through any quieires or questions I have. So far, it's been excellent.
I feel very much supported by Severn Trent. I feel that they are prepared and open enough to take me as far as my progress wishes to go. The company offers many different career paths, and has given me the skills that will lay the foundations of my working career.
At this current moment, my salary meets my costs. I feel that it suits my workload very well, due to my lack of current knowlesge of the company, as a whole. I am yet to see how my salary meets my change in workload, as I have been at the company for such little time.
At this current moment no. There are no opportunities out of work. This is only in my best knowledge, at this current moment. If it arises that their are opportunities away from work, I would be very motivated to get involved.
Yes
Severn Trent is a very supportive and important company. Despite its large importance, it seems to treat all employees fairly and friendly. Everybody is happy with their workload and motivated to do their best each day. Which the correct attitude and work rate, Severn Trent will be prepared to progress you up and through the company.
I would advice people to be confident and positive. Since the introduction of our new CEO, positivity has been a crucial part of an employees day. I would also advise people to trust Severn Trent, in their ability to apply confidence in their employees.
