Currently the programme is giving me enough to do, without becoming over burdened with things to do. The company itself is a great place to work for, with everyone being helpful , friendly and approachable to questions. The course gave me all of the information I need for real life application.
Being given important roles very quickly after starting for the company I feel important within the CGI business. My manager speaks to me on a regular basis, both formally and informally, helping me to feel part of the team.
The course is very easy to follow, the resources are given promptly and further questions are quickly answered. Time sheets for the course were given well in advance. The team hierarchy is easy to follow, but doesn't seem like any one person is taking control, everyone has their say in things, and everyone knows what they are doing on a regular basis.
My trainer is more or less always available to IM or E-mail. The initial training session was very helpful as it gave a good outline of what I need to use/do, making sure that i was on board and understood everything before continuing. Overall the training was very enjoyable, and not difficult to understand.
My manager engages with me regularly, and is available through IM and Email. The HR team is accessible through online, on there are lots of easily accessible material within the company which is most often related and useful to the questions that I have. Not only this but members of my team are also available to speak to.
The travelling cost, daily expenditures and other outgoings are far lower than my salary, and allows for me to have much disposable income. The location is in a prime location for social events with the team, as well as lunch break.
The company offers lots of social events that the company partially pays for, which works great for bringing team members together outside of work. They also accept new requests for a social activities that anyone can put forward. When I wasn't working I was speaking to other members of CGI through VOIP software or engaging in social events on the weekend. Overall everyone at the company is easy to get along with.
Yes
It's a great company to work for, the pay is good and the benefits that they offer are difficult to match.
Personally I found that the assessment process looked more towards your ability to problem solve as well as ones ability to connect and work within a team. CGI offer lots of further business opportunities due to the large range of work one can do. Most job assessments are very formal, i wish someone would have told me inviting the company is as a whole.
