  • I work for the PMO which involves tasks from sales/business development to support and programme governance. The role is a mixture of business and technical tasks such as data manipulation and sales forecasting.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The team is very supportive and is genuinely interested in providing shadowing and training opportunities for me to develop the skills and knowledge required for future and current tasks/job roles. The culture of the company is to support each other through training and sharing knowledge which I have experienced on my current role. So far I am enjoying my role and the Sponsored Degree Programme because there are skills which could only be learnt and development through work as oppose to university.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by CGI?
  • There is a lot of support. On a monthly basis I have a development review meeting with my manager to discuss areas which I need to improve on as well as discuss opportunities or areas which I would like to develop further understanding. • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The tutors set aside time for us to meet one to one if we have any questions. I have noticed particular guidance and support in final year, in which response from emails have been efficient and the help provided has been beneficial in achieving the grades. I enjoy the training days because I can put what I have learnt from university into practise at work and links can be tied up to develop understanding.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • CGI are very supportive and the HR team have been very helpful with concerns that I have raised. My manager and team are very supportive which has really motivated me to do my best on tasks and excel in my current job role. I feel my concerns are listened to and really believe that I am a valued member of both my team and CGI.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary package meets the costs. However I am not renting and so the opinion of pay may vary from people staying at home and people who are renting. I also believe that the pay should reflect both the individuals university grade and the performance grade in CGI.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • The Student recruitment team emails, Cynergi page and Sports Social Club (which I am a member of) advertise upcoming social events and sports. I play football on Monday nights which has helped network with other CGI members. There are voluntary initiatives such as helping out at school events to promote CGI sponsored degree programme which I have also been involved in. I find that I am more sociable by being on the Sponsored Degree Programme working for CGI because I can get involved in CGI socials outside of work hours which University would not be able to provide.

    10/10

  • 9. Would you recommend CGI to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The CGI Sponsored Degree Programme provides experience and life skills which could not be learnt at university. I have developed my confidence and become more assertive which has helped me in both work and social situations.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
  • Before the interview make sure you have work experience as well as academic grades, because then you can provide good examples when asked scenario questions in the interview. Most importantly enjoy yourself when in the interview and also when working for CGI.
