my day to day role comes with big responsibility (already), this is key for me as this makes my job fulfilling and enjoyable; this also allows for effective progress in the business. I am responsible for maintaining spreadsheets and data from incoming purchase orders, and sending away quotes to get raised for purchase orders also.
I have developed my existing skills of using apps such as spreadsheets and outlook as i use them on a day to day basis. I have developed new skills; conference calls and note taking at meetings.
i enjoy my apprenticeship a lot as unlike most, you are not taken back to basics and you are given a lot of responsibility to start with - treating you as part of the team and not just given the lowered skilled jobs.
Very. I have already built relationships with many people in CGI after only being here two weeks. I have a project team that i communicate well with and feel welcomed.
My programme is well structured as we have a breakdown of our 4 years and what we will be doing - both in work and academically, this enables us to plan well ahead and look forward for upcoming work/tasks. This structure allows us to focus on current work and not worry about the future.
I receive good support and regular check ups from my training provider. I have had to ask them many questions and they have answered all of them well and timely. This welcoming feel helped me settle in very well.
My manager and i have a phone call daily to discuss today's agenda and how i am getting on. This support helps me ask any questions if need be and makes me more comfortable asking as the relationships is a good one.
The wage i am receiving is one i am happy with, due to this being an apprenticeship scheme the average salary for this is not normally one to be excited about. However, this is the exception. Also the location is easy to commute to and from- in every transport manner (car, train, bus)
Yes. We have been offered many activities, such as work social nights out, sports clubs (football club).
Yes
Because of the manner of work, it is exciting and challenging work that keeps you fulfilled, along with this you also receive a qualification.
Dont be afraid to ask questions. Due to the type of field you are in there is a lot of information that needs to be taken on board. So make sure you ask question instead of struggling with the work and becoming stressed, after all you are an MA and its all about learning.
