I am currently project managing a small Cyber project, learning to do the internal financing and management procedures as well as managing a team of 11 individuals. I am also involved with sales and bidding functions in which I am part of the team who produces commercial and government proposals in order to win more work.
I have learnt financial, governance and imitogation skills that I would have not developed unless I had been exposed to first hand experience
I have very much enjoyed the programme granted it is sometimes challenging I have found that I have developed a great deal since starting and feel that I am in a great position to develop a career in the future
I feel I am very much valued by the managers. They are very supportive of the sponsired degree programme and will often check on my development to enusre that I am not overly stressed and feel supported.
I feel that the programme is structured well, HR will escalte any issues that we have if necessary and we have representatives on our scheme who feed back to CGI and the university any issues that we face.
We are very much supported I have already been trained in about 6 different scheme since starting including being funded to take a bidding qualification, internal tool training for financial functions as well as consultancy training.
I feel that CGI has a good system of supported including a line manager, people manager and mentors all of which will keep in regular contact. If I had any issues I would feel comfortable to raise them.
I feel that it meets my costs well considering I am not having to fund my degree.
Yes I have been given several opporrunities to talk to young school girls encourgaing them to consider careers in IT on the behalf of CGI - which is very rewarding
Yes
Because it offers the perfect balance between experience and earning a living whilst starting a career! CGI will help develop you and expose you to various career paths.
Make sure that it is something you want to do because balancing a career and a degree requires good time management.
