My job title is PMO. My daily tasks include project report and liaising with senior project managers. I have many different daily interactions with senior members. My responsibilities vary from client report or ensuring risks are updated correctly. My day involves sending lots of emails and sitting in plenty of meetings.
I have gained a number of qualifications during my time on the course. There is plenty of opportunity for internal training courses with plenty of different modules and we sometimes have the opportunity for external training days.
I enjoy the team I work at university and whilst at university. There is plenty of opportunity to change teams. I believe the course has met my expectations.
I regularly get appreciation from my senior managers and they are always happy to praise me in newsletters and I once received an recognition award which included an £20 amazon voucher.
My programme is very well run however finding time to study whilst working can be hard so I have to do all my reading in the evening during my own time. My project are supportive of my programme when deadlines or exams are due.
My training provider are very good, I received a tutor who I can talk to if I encounter any issues. They provided all my books so I can complete all the readings at no expensive to myself.
My employer are very supportive, they regularly send out communication and are very supportive in terms of study leave and books. They are happy to provide support in terms of resources and help.
Salary is obviously a topic where people believe they need more. I believe with the university costs being covered and any extra travel being covered my living style is at a level I would expect for the programme I am on.
There are plenty of opportunities outside of work if you are a member of the sports and social programme. We regularly play football and travel the world to play in football tournaments. There are committees who ensure there are activities arranged in order to help people to socialise.
Yes
CGI is a great company to work for and I enjoy working for the company and I feel it is a great programme for people who can't decide between working and going to university.
During assessment days be as positive as possible and ask plenty of questions. Make sure you research about the company, any latest news stories or projects they have been involved in and ensure to enjoy yourself and socialise.
