As a Trainee Associate I aid my executive in completing audit procedures by communicating with the client and evaluating their information.
My teamwork skills have improved significantly due to the close knit team structure at EY. My audit and Oil & Gas skills have increased exponentially due to the fast paced work and readily available training.
I thouroughly enjoy my work as well as the vast majority of people in the office. EY has an excellent work/life balance and it has fully met the expectations I had of such a large company.
I feel highly valued by EY, my managers are always quick to thank me for my work at the end of a week and when I am re-booked by the same managers for different clients I feel like I have done well because they want me back.
The programme is structured very well by combining ICAS classes with on-the-job coaching. This helps to establish a theory that can then be fully understood in practice with the help of senior staff.
The ICAS tutors are extremely helpful and will always take time to explain something in a different way if I do not understand.
The managers on my team always make sure that I understand my work and my counsellor always checks in from time to time. We also have our EY Leads programme which allows us to gain extra knowledge in Oil & Gas to help us understand our clients.
The salary is very good in relation to most other apprenticeships, travel costs are covered by expenses and I can live relatively comfortably on the salary I have.
We have a charities committee which selects a charity each year to support through different events. We also have a social committee which offers events outside of work. In the area there are many attractions like cinemas, gyms etc. that allow me to fill my evenings.
Yes
Excellent company to work for.
Relax and be yourself all the way through, EY is a people company and if you have the grades they will know you have a degree of intelligence, the interviews to me appeared more to be interviews of character rather than of competency. A good reference always helps as well!
