Part of the assurance department at PwC during 'busy season'. Most of the placement we are away at client sites doing their end of year audit. We talk to clients about various matters and have to challenge them if we believe there are any problems or inaccuracies with their accounts.
Auditing was completely new so all the skills I have learnt are knew. E.g testing cash, debtors and creditors, loan arrangements etc.
It is very tough but ultimately rewarding
They are very good with making sure we are okay and the benefits are quite foos
Placements are organised at the busiest time of the year meaning that we get the maximum experience possible
We can contact members of the university at any time
We have buddies in older years, a people manager and programme advisor who we can email at any time
When there is away work costs are virtually non existent
The work is too busy to be able to do much else
Yes
It's a supportive organisation. Hours are long but will be ultimately worth it
There's multiple ways to get in. They don't actually demand that you have much prior knowledge/experience and you just need to have an eagerness to learn and be confident enough
