My role is within the team Program Execution for Alert Operations. I carry out daily checks to ensure files are received and quality is met. I also have a part to play in the implementation of new programs to improve the efficiency of Alert Ops and introduce new methods of work.
Initially I only began to learn extended IT skills that I had not learnt before. I have been able to seek opportunities to build my network, as well as arrange team building exercises. I have completed Anti-Money Laundering skills and knowledge to aid my job role. I have also been able to develop my presentation skills.
This programme is without a doubt one of the best. I looked into several before deciding JP Morgan was the place I wanted to be. The diverse roles and skill here is beyond what I imagined, as well as adopting a very balanced work life culture. My team are fantastic and have really adopted me and given me the responsibility I want and need to challenge me and develop my knowledge and skills further.
I feel valued at J.P. Morgan - I have been taken into a team that has never hired an apprentice before and whilst this is new to me, it is to them too. However, I have been recognized for working hard by my manager and my manager's manager, and that is because I have been given the opportunities to get involved in projects as well as aid other teams to meet deadlines.
The structure of the programme is fantastic. We are given 18 months in one role to really excel and experience just a small snippet of the business. We are given various opportunities through the apprenticeship to network and get involved in campus-wide activities. We have regular 1-1's with our managers to discuss how we are getting on, as well as address any concerns we or they may have. Training was given two weeks prior to our start date within J.P. Morgan, as well as receiving extensive training for our job roles.
Our training provider is always there for us, to help with any issues we have to introducing us to opportunities that we may not find on our own. We are given great support in terms of completing the exams throughout the apprenticeship.
My manager is my first point of call, and is always there to offer support and guidance when it's needed. Furthermore, he will listen to what I have to say and if I ask for more responsibility there is no hesitation in providing. The wider population of JP Morgan offers mentoring sessions, of which is widely encouraged.
My salary meets my monthly costs therefore I don't have any issues with this.
We are provided with opportunities to get involved with a variety of sports and culture clubs, on site and off site. There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities to give back to the wider community. Furthermore, we see various events taking place on campus throughout the year for everyone to get involved in.
Yes
My experience here has been fantastic so far, with no negative comments to make at all. I feel like I am given so many opportunities to develop myself here, and has really steered me to understand what I want from this apprenticeship and for the future.
I would advise others applying to take the assessments throughout the application process seriously. They are tough but if you can get through and really show that you are what J.P. Morgan are missing, you won't regret it. Ensure you take every opportunity to find out more about the business as and when you can.
