I am in Application Support Monitoring. My daily tasks include providing access to internal clients, monitoring application health and talking to clients to solve their issues. I am currently working on multiple projects to lessen workload for the team and to make our daily tasks quicker and easier.
I have learned many new skills including how to use monitoring technologies efficiently, new coding languages and client service. Alongside these, I am in the process of gaining a level 4 qualification in providing financial services.
I enjoy working at JP Morgan very much. The qualification is challenging but enjoyable as I am learning many new things that I didn't know before I joined the programme.
I feel extremely valued by JP Morgan. I do not feel like I am treated as an apprentice as I feel equal to the other people in my team in terms of workload and relationships.
The programme was very clearly explained at the start of the year and, as long as you keep up to date with exams and coursework, is very easy to follow.
We receive set calls once every 2-3 months from the provider to give and receive general updates on the apprenticeship. The training providers always respond to emails and are always there when apprentices have questions at any time.
We receive a lot of support from our employer. They always reply to emails or set up meetings to discuss any questions we have and they always provide us with helpful information which makes completion of tasks a lot easier.
I always get by every month on my salary and, considering I run a home and a car and still have money left over at the end of the month, I cannot complain about the wage at all.
The opportunities outside of work are the main reason I love working here. There's always something to do or get involved with and I feel proud of many of the things I have done outside of my job throughout my time here.
Yes
It is a brilliant, well run programme which has taught me a lot of useful skills. The opportunities both inside and outside of my day-to-day role are endless and the atmosphere is always positive and enjoyable.
Don't underestimate a banking apprenticeship, it's a lot more fun than you'd think! If you're looking to have an enjoyable learning experience with a great company, you should apply here!
