I am a HR apprentice at IBM, as part of my current role I assist the UK Domestic Mobility lead and work closely with the head of pensions assisting on implementing IBM's new financial education tool called Nudge.
I am currently working towards my CIPD Level 5 and have had the opportunity to attend several IBM courses such as technical and business fundamentals which gave me an understanding to IBM's technical past, present and future.
I really enjoy the programme I am on, I have a great team who understand that I need time to complete my studies. They also allow time for me to participate in training days out side of HR which allows me to build personal skills ect
I feel valued by IBM, my task manager provides lots of support and praise for regarding the work I complete.
My apprenticeship has only just started but I feel the support I get from the company and from BPP my apprenticeship provider has been very great.
Lots of support from my training provider, my tutor is very approachable and is happy to answer any questions I have no matter how silly they may seem.
I receive lots of support from my task manager and feel that she understands any concerns I have and will advise and act accordingly. She is really supportive towards my apprenticeship and my learning.
The package does meet cost and it is good that IBM provide you a credit card to expense your travel. If this was not provided then it would make travel difficult. It would be good to see discounts or rewards just for apprentices.
Yes there are opportunities to get involved in other projects outside of your day job which my business unit support.
Yes
It is a good place to work and the people who work at IBM are supportive and friendly and provide great advice on how to progress your career.
It is a good place to work. I would advise taking time to research IBM what they have done in the past and what there focus are for the future. Make sure you have prepared examples to discuss when you get to interview. When partaking in the group task, make yourself known but don't over power others, get your views across but understand and make time to listen to others.
