I work in a Change management role which involves looking after all the IBM change requests for a rather large uk account. I interact with both IBM SMEs and various clients on a daily basis to ensure changes are suitable and scheduled while following the ITIL framework.
Completed ITIL certification and continuing to develop those skills in the workplace. Presentation skills are also continually developed within daily service meetings.
The IBM apprenticeship is of high quality and provides a lot of training for those willing to get involved and this clearly shows by the amount of awards we have won over the years.
I feel the value is definitely there within the foundation group.
Training and support for documentation which needs to be completed is always available if you require it.
I have been informed that there facilities are available for use at any time. However not living near the college does stop this from time to time
IBM do a brilliant job of supporting apprentices through the foundation programme which is set up to mentor and guide apprentices through the 3 years of the apprenticeship
Living costs are covered for me personally as are travel costs, which is better than i would expect. I moved from the north of UK to the south for the role i am in currently and this was all covered, however in a base salary sense, i feel like is adequate.
Depending on the location you work at, opportunities are more than available in lots of locations, however I found when i worked in the north of the UK there where a lot less opportunites, however we still found a way to get involved.
Yes
Between the base salary and the opportunities to move upwards in your career, IBM is a brilliant place to work as an apprentice.
The assessment centres are long days but if you have what it takes and the dedication, then you'll succeed.
