My job title is 'SDD Integration team'. Daily tasks include jobs such as running reports, supporting meetings, creating files to send to CSI's. Daily interactions are within the F35 department and with the US customer. I work on the projects FoM and SDD.
I am working towards a honours and foundation degree in Project Management. We are provided training by the company and are encouraged to do so by the team. Skills I have developed are computer skills such as excel, other Microsoft programmes, communication skills and leadership skills.
I enjoy the programme very much. It is hard, but well worth it and I recommend the scheme to every person I meet who is about to progress to further education. The company I work is amazing, and it is over and above my expectations.
Very much so. I have never felt like a 'head-count', I always feel valued and my team help me to feel this way as does the company. I am very proud to work for BAE Systems. This is enhanced by the scheme always encouraging you to do more and help others.
My programme is very well structured. I do feel as though the university side of the apprenticeship needs improvement as there is often confusion, but overall I think the work and team delegation is very well structured and organised with a constant flow of communication.
I receive a lot of support from my team and tutor. We are always being encouraged to do more, and I know that if ever I need someone to talk to that there will be someone there to speak to. I do enjoy it very much so.
I receive a lot of support from the employer, BAE Systems. I have a mentor, the buildings are easily accessible and I know will accommodate should I ever need help. I am given advice with problems and always have support if needed.
The salary covers the living costs, travel costs, daily costs, social costs, and the access to Salmesbury site. The salary is above and beyond expected but the harder you work the more you are rewarded.
There are many opportunities outside of work, we can help out at road shows, school career events, air shows and other events such as these. We can volunteer but do get paid also for our help at some events, there is a gym near site and there are sports clubs within the company.
Yes
It is a very rewarding company and I love saying that I work at BAE Systems. I would recommend them due to the irreplaceable reputation you develop if you do well in the company, and the fact the company look after their employees is a big attraction to the company.
When applying, I would advise to ensure that the spelling, grammar and punctuation is correct and that you are not over the word count, don't lie on your application, be yourself and show off that you are a team player and want to develop yourself within your career.
