I am currently in street lighting, my day to day roll consists of a form filling, autocad and also going out on site to get a better understanding of street lighting
Developed my Autocad skills a lot since I have started, I have also learned communication skills, which I lacked on before starting.
I enjoy coming into work everyday and gettings a new project to work on and also getting trusted with important bits of the project
I Feel very valued by costain because they have gave me a start in life into the work stage, If it was not for this apprenticeship I do not know what I would be doing now.
The programme was structured and organised brilliantly, there is a rotation programme where we go around each department and see what the department is about and how we could get involved.
I have received a lot of support from my training provider, I have recieved alot of information.
I have gotten a lot of support from my employer before the apprenticeship, they answered any questions i had and also put my mind at ease about what will happen after the to year apprenticeship.
The salary goes beyond meeting my costs, I have enough to pay car insurance and have a bit left over to treat myself or save up.
There are a lot of opportunities out of work.
Yes
I would recommend costain to a friend because it is a brilliant company to get started with a apprenticeship. I have already recommended to many of my friends costain and what they could potentially achieve.
Enjoy your time at costain and ask as many questions as you can, this gains trust from fellow colleagues and they can see that you are interested in the work you are doing.
