I am a Pre-Litigation Specialist in the Non-Fault department within Enterprise Rent-A-Car. My daily duties are to retrieve hire costs from insurance companies who insure the at-fault driver after a collision with out client. Our client since their accident will be placed in to a credit hire vehicle which is not charged to them but charged to that at-fault insurer. It is my job to argue with them the liability aspect and also the quantum amount of the claim. I have a duty to ensure that I work minimum of 25 claims per day and collect at least £50k per month for the company. I also must follow rules and regulations such as the Data Protection Act, since I handle sensitive customer information.
I have certainly developed new skills whilst doing my apprenticeship as I now know how to efficiently get through my work load. I have also learnt more about the different acts but in place such as the Equality Act, this has helped me build a better relationship with colleagues. My grammar has improved and so have my technical claims handling skills.
I enjoyed the tutor that I got to see on a fortnightly basis as she really helped me to get through some of the tough units that I had come across. I also enjoyed the feeling of achievement once I had finished each unit. I really enjoy the team that I work in, we all seem to come together when there is an issue and resolve it quickly. I have fantastic coordinators that are willing to assist at all times.
Very valued. They are always offering to build me as a person and an employee. I feel very confident that my professional career will be based in this company for the years to come.
I am given training whenever I require, if I don't feel very confident on a certain subject, my supervisor and coordinators always ensure that I get the help I need until I feel confident enough to do the task. I have more than enough time to study for my apprenticeship and I am more that welcome to book a room should I wish to study in peace.
Tutor is fantastic, always at the end of the phone if I have a query and never failed to help when it is needed. If I had any issues, such as meeting a deadline, she would ensure extra help and come into the office more often to help me out more. I really enjoyed it.
Support from employer is ok, they don't become too involved but every now and again ask how it is going. I have never had a mentor since being in the company (2 years) but have always been interested in being one for someone else.
Salary is low, however for my age (20) not too bad. I am looking to move out of my family home and its proving impossible when I already pay rent to live there, have a car to run and other bills to pay.
ERAC do lots of charity events that I have attended once, we went to a school and volunteered to paint the inside and outside as it was looking run down. They have lots of company events. Every year we either have a summer/winter party, the last summer party in 2015, they took us all to Thorpe Park. For 2016 winter party, we had a winter ball. When I wasn't working I would usually be reading, studying, watching television or being with my Fiance.
Yes
Great company, fantastic opportunities to progress and excellent events to attend.
Make sure you research before attending your face-to-face interview and always remain 'smiley'. I would have like to have been told that the people here were actually friendly since I was so nervous that I was working with a lot of people older than me (I was 18)!
