I am an associate in audit, so most of my time is currently spent on client site helping out with the audit of the accounts. Also I go to college to study for exams.
I have learnt a lot more knowledge of accounting and am taking exams to work towards my ACCA qualification. I have also learnt practical excel skills.
The programme at Deloitte is great, everyone understands that you are knew to accounting and give lots of support. It is a lot of fun too being with people doing the same thing.
I feel valued because we are given responsibility straight away, and lots of tasks to perform in the audit, and we know our work is important.
There was a lot of training when we first started the programme and we got an overview of what we would be doing. However, I am not sure about when/how many exams I will be taking after the first year of the programme,
When doing exams we can get in contact with the tutors if we want to ask questions and they are very happy to help. Also there are annual calls with our appraisers and someone from BPP where we can discuss any issues.
lots, everyone understands what we are going through as many of them did it also. Therefore everyone understands exam pressures and is happy to offer support.
Good, when traveling anywhere other than the office you can expense it so there are not many costs directly related to work which we have to pay for ourselves.
There are lots of social events happening throughout the year at deloitte, for example the Christmas/summer parties. Also you can join different sports groups at deloitte.
Yes
The people are really nice and get on well, which makes the work enjoyable. Also because you can get professional qualifications whilst working and earning a salary.
Make sure you are friendly and confident in interviews. Also make sure you make lots of contributions in the assessment days where there are group activities.
