I am an Assistant Associate working for the Financial Crime Team within Risk Advisory. Currently I am on a project based in London, where I have been learning and applying my knowledge of financial crime regulations to everyday working situations. I frequently interact with people of all grades within Deloitte on a day-to-day basis.
Yes, upon starting at Deloitte we received a lot of training focussing on harnessing our skills in order to hold a successful career at Deloitte. Since, I have had many other training sessions more service line specific - all of which I have found very helpful.
I love working for Deloitte. The people, culture and work in itself have proven to be even better than I had initially expected. I look forward to what he future holds for life at Deloitte, both throughout and after the BrightStart scheme.
I find that senior team members make an effort to show that you are valued at Deloitte, which feels great. The recognition you receive upon producing good work definitely makes you realise your efforts don't go unnoticed.
I have found the programme to be very well structured. The support systems in place have been very tentative and I have found that when necessary, my queries have always been addressed quickly and efficiently.
For our CIMA qualification, I feel that Deloitte having chosen BPP as the provider of our professional education was a sound decision. BPP have continually provided extensive support where needed, constantly checking in to see if I ever need assistance.
I have never felt as if I have had any serious issues whilst at Deloitte, but for general support and help with day-to-day issues, all staff at Deloitte I have approached have been great. The schemes in place to provide a support mechanism are very successful as I always feel I know who to approach in any situation.
I feel that our wage rate is good comparable to other schemes amongst similar firms. I commute in and my wage does cover that so I am comfortable, however speaking to some people who pay rent and live in London whilst on this scheme, I know many do still struggle.
Yes, I am involved in local community activity that is set up by Deloitte, and the firm constantly offer events we can go to externally. There are also many internal communities you can join to get involved in out-of-work activities.
Yes
I personally don't feel I could have made a better choice than coming to work for Deloitte. I would recommend this to anyone without a doubt. Choosing Deloitte over going to university has suited me perfectly, I feel at no disadvantage from not going to get a degree like many people do upon leaving school, in fact often feel more people should consider schemes like this instead.
Don't be nervous and put yourself out there, especially during the onboarding events. I have made some great friends who I now frequently socialise with outside of work, which just makes he job even better! For the interviews just be yourself and remember that the interviewer would've been in your seat at some point too.
