My job role is a junior PMO analyst. daily tasks are pulling reports, running meetings and chasing people up about multiple things. Everyday I am kept busy with having to communicate with other members within technology to keep a track on project governance and see how the project is doing. I am responsible for doing the team meeting and taking minutes and actions so the team then know what their jobs are for the up and coming week.
I have learnt many skills and I believe as a person have grown because these skills give me the confidence to go and chase people up who are older than me and before that was quite daunting. the courses at QA I have attended have been very useful for my learning. I have learnt how to have a good working relationship with stakeholders and how projects work. I have became very good at taking minutes and actions even though it may not be the best job in the world.
I have recently had to change team and line manager as my old line manager accepted another job but I couldn't be happier with the move. it was definitely the right move for me, I am kept busy all day and the team are really nice and approachable and I know if I don't understand any work given to me, I can ask them and I can get a better understanding of it all. I feel as though I fit in well to the RBS culture and it is exactly how I thought it was going to be.
I feel valued at RBS but there has been a few times since I joined that I done a few important pieces of work and didn't get any appreciation or a thank you.
I feel as though the whole programme over has been well structured. maybe the task delegation isn't the best because sometimes it feels as thought people are scared to give an apprentice work because we are labelled apprentices. apart from that the whole process has been good.
my training assessor has overall been really good and I feel me and him have a good working relationship and can freely talk to each other about the work and what needs improved. there has been a few times where I have needed help with a piece of work and he hasn't got back to me but overall he has no problems with supporting me.
I always receive the best help possible from all staff and I feel their attitude towards me is very good and its made me settle in much easier
the salary is very good at RBS. it enables me to be safe from month to month and do what I want to do without having to worry to much about the money aspect
I haven't been too or heard of many opportunities outside working hours even though at the induction there was supposed to be outside of work opportunities
Yes
because fantastic company to work for and can lead you in any direction you want to go, thanks to RBS I now know I want to pursue a career within RBS and see how far I can go.
I feel as thought the only tip I can give is too approach the job with an open mind-set because it could take you anywhere because you might be good at one thing and not so good at another.
