I am a credit risk apprentice and at the moment my daily tasks are mainly around gaining a better understanding of the business area I work in. I have also been helping the team with some admin based tasks which are not only helping the team to become more organised but helping me to get to understand more about my team.
At the moment I am working towards completing my Professional Bankers Certificate which should hopefully be finished by April. I have also been developing my skills using Microsoft office.
I am currently really enjoying my apprenticeship. Everyone in my team has been very helpful which has made me feel very comfortable in my role and that has allowed me to progress well in my studies.
I feel very valued in my role with RBS. My manager always lets me know when I have done a good piece of work. I also feel valued by the others members in my team as they are happy to ask for my help when completing big pieces of work.
I feel my programme is well organised. I received very good training and support from my team in my first few weeks in my role and that support is still available whenever I need it.
I receive lots of support from my training provider. There are 4 different ways I can contact my training provider and they are very good at responding quickly with the appropriate help.
I receive great support from my employer. Everyone I have come in to contact with has been really keen to offer me the support I need. My team has been especially good in making me feel enough comfortable to ask any questions I may have.
My salary is great for the role I am in. It meets all my living costs including travel and still leaves me with enough money to be able to save a significant amount each month.
There are opportunities to do things outside of work but I haven't attended any of these yet. I do often get emails however telling me about these opportunities.
Yes
Overall RBS has been a great place for me to do my apprenticeship. I have been provided with the opportunity to learn whilst also working in a very professional business environment which I feel has really benefitted me.
The only advice I would give to anyone else applying is that the application process is really long but it is worth it. After the application process was completed everything else was very easy.
