  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I will be achieving Business & Admin level 3 NVQ. There is a wide range of qualifications available to apply to through RBS. Once my apprenticeship is complete, I will certainly look into them. I learn a lot every day, and there are always new challenges

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The work keeps you on your toes, and there are always new problems that need to be dealt with. The team is very supportive and friendly. Everyone in the office is friendly and talks to each other. Being the first time coming into the world of work I found it very easy to settle in.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by NatWest?
  • With feedback being one of the banks priorities, anyone who does something well gets told they've done a good job. There are LOV awards which people can be nominated for which are recognised by the bank. I am involved in a lot of the projects that my team does, and my ideas are quite often used.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall the programme is well organised. There has been a couple of problems, such as not getting enrolled onto my functional skills towards the end of the 1st month. But you are kept well informed, and it is very clear as to what is required of you.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have been in contact with my tutor on a few occasions, and he was very quick to give me the answer I needed. I also had a welcome call where hi went through what I need to be doing, and asked if I had any questions (which everyone does)

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager helps me with any questions I have, as she has done a lot of training in the areas covered. On the intranet there are a lot of resources available that aid with my apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary covers all costs and is appropriate to the are I work in.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are always company events, workshops and spotlight sessions happening on different things. Charity work is encouraged, and you can have up to 5 days leave for charity events.

  • 9. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great bank, with very good and achievable goals. The focus in recent years is on training staff to be the best they can, and to serve customers well. The support you receive from the bank is very good.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • Just be patient with the application process, and make sure your CV is tailored to the job you are applying for. They are very supportive and informative. Follow the interview guidelines and research the bank.
