Process cash collections and carry our bank account reconciliations. Go through reports and investigate and trades which our in my teams catergory.
How to structure emails. Easier to approach new people. Learnt to not worry about asking any question. Excel skills have improved. Time management course has improved my organisation and I get more done on a day to day basis. Learnt about banking and RBS Treasury.
I find the work interesting as I get to talk to a lot of different people and seeing how my work affects an end product is satisfying. My team is very friendly and I get along well with all of them, they always make me feel welcome. Joining RBS has met my overall expectations, but in terms of how friendly everyone is I never expected people to be so friendly.
I feel extremely valued by RBS since joining especially given that the RBS Treasurer supported our programme so much.
The programme in terms of what dates and deadlines we have to meet is very well structured. However the apprenticeship could be improved as it was quite hard to get my head around what we actually had to do for it.
They answer any my questions on the same day and give an answer I am satisfied with. My tutor in particular is very helpful. The support videos on the VLE are also good.
My manager and team always give advice when I ask on a particular topic. The early careers team have organised lots of courses for us to go on so far which I have found extremely useful. The overall feel is that everyone wants to support me as much as they can. I have also had frequent 1 to 1s.
I live at home. Travel isn't too much as I have an apprentice oyster card which entitles me to a discount fare. London as an area is expensive but I spend my money wisely and always have money left at the end of the month.
There are often events organised such as darts, table tennis etc. As an apprentice I can attend some careers fairs to advise school students on their early career.
Yes
Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I feel like I can ask anyone for help or ask any question.
Learn about RBS history and their culture. Be patient as work starts slow but it picks up in no time. Ask ANY question you want. When someone explains something to you make sure you understand it otherwise you'll regret not asking.
