I work in Real Estate Finance Portfolio Management, my day to day tasks consist of reviewing customer deals, dealing with customer queries, liaising with customer and writing reports.
I have learnt many new skills including banking skills, maths, team work and credit knowledge skills. I have a better understanding of the banking world.
I have enjoyed the programme a lot, I have a nice team and have been able to learn a lot. The company is good however the culture can be a bit harsh as you are the youngest in the bank and can sometimes be babied. The apprenticeship met my expectations at times even though it has been slightly tedious and repetitive e.g coursework.
I feel very valued at RBS by my team however not so much in my wider team as people are reluctant to change and see things as a hierarchy.
The programme is well organised I have received a lot of support from my support mentor at BPP and has been very helpful. Communications to apprentices haven't been well organised and I think there still needs to be worked on.
I receive a lot of help from training provider, she is very nice and always willing to help and gives helpful feed back. She has always been very supportive and positive.
My manager has been supportive however I have had to do a lot of things by myself as I have a busy team, I would of liked to learn a lot more in my team but they did not have the time. Apart from that my manager and BPP help has been supportive along with HR at times.
The Salary packing is very good and meets my costs compared to other apprenticeships. It coves all my costs.
Yes there are many opportunities to go to events such as law firms, site visits and drinks. Also learning sessions within the bank which are helpful.
Yes
I think it is a great opportunity and a good alternative to university. It is a great way to get into the corporate world and get a foot in the door.
Always prepare for interviews and assessment days. I would of like to have been told before hand how office life is like.
