Oracle DBA. install and support servers and software to do with oracle. Spoke to colleagues within department aswell as project managers sat in other offices and also have frequent with external customers. Look after system 24/7 and ensure service is always 100% up and running. High security projects.
Have received 4 certifications from oracle through oracle exams which were done by vouchers given to me by fujitsu. Gained level 3 apprenticeship in IT.
I enjoyed the freedom to go off and learn what i needed to for the job role on my own where appropriate and assistes when required. Overall i think this works very well as the learning is done when you need it as opposed to unnecesarlly going through pages of books that are of no relevance
I fell i am well valued and my work is appreciate when done well
There was clear structure from the day i started in terms of the apprenticeship and my working life. I always knew what was expected of me and how i could achieve this. And even if i didnt i knew from the clear hierachy who i could turn to for help.
Visited my place of work every month, sometimes more. Was able to contact them via email when required for further help and this was very usefull for completing assingments and getting the work done
I was afforded the time and space to complete my college work and given the appropraite materials to learn what was required for my job role. Colleagues and managers are always helpful in explaning things when i needed it.
Acceptable salary for the travelling and role i was doing
Oracle run events and Fujitsu are invited to these which in turn got passed onto us, so yes attended a few conferences and events.
Yes
I think overall it is a very good company to work for who are helpful and allow you to progress within the company at a good rate and give you an acceptable salary along the way, whilst always supporting carrer deveolpment.
Be confident and dont try to bluff in any situation because the manager i interviewed with was very good and can see righ through this, just be honest and yourself and if you fit the role you will get it.
