  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, Ive been signed up for regular training that is specific my role which is also very helpful, so from the first 1st year, I believe I have developed myself as a person within my role, and have become more confident to try new things that I might be a bit reluctant on to do before.

  • Working in FJ, I feel valued as an employee with all the training I am receiving and experience I am gaining as an apprentice, so I have no problems about that

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well , when I first started working here, I felt the induction/On-boarding was very smooth and I had all my equipment ready on the day for me, so I could go straight into work and start on my e-learning courses. There is also a clear path of where I can take my career within Fujitsu.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training provider does not offer much support, and I feel that I'm hardly challenged on my work as some of the assessors are not willing to look through my whole assignment, luckily fujistu are offering me a lot of support and guidance.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots, My Line Manager, who has been very helpful and supportive, has been giving me work on new projects within our role with continuous improvement which has been very helpful and I have had the chance to attend BITC events (Business in the community), which I think is very good for employees to build them as a person by giving back to the community

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • With the pay, I think that its fair as an apprentice, it will always be nice to have a little bit more in the pocket. Luckily I am living with my parents so I am able to save money, but for someone who might be living in a flat, I imagine they would find it tricky to make ends meet with the current pay rate, especially if they have to travel far distances for work, as this takes quite a chunk out of my pay with a 45min/1hour drive to work.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, I am able to attend BITC events outside of work, giving me the opportunity to help the local community, I regularly go into a local secondary school and assist in the school council meetings and helpings classes raise money for charities. Along with that I get to attend other events such as regatta's or career events.

  • 9. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I felt very comfortable working in this environment and the 3-month induction pack was very helpful to manage my workload of things to do, and to gradually add more work into my role, so I'm not dumped with all the roles I need to do at once. They gave me time to learn each role properly then move onto the next and the next etc. They have also improved my values and have given me confidence to get things done inside and outside of work.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • Always be honest about what you want from then, as Fujitsu are great for trying new opportunities within the business through the 'career transition pathways'. And don't think that you will instantly set the world on fire when you are first joining, as know one can do that, and it will take time for you to develop into your role, so be patient and the opportunities will come.
