My role was mainly to report to my supervisor which changed almost daily and complete set tasks surrounding their area of law which if I finished I often got to do real life work that they were working on as well. I often got to meet and talk to senior members of the firm and it gave me a brilliant overview of what my life will be like when I become a trainee.
I have developed my skills as a lawyer which admittedly were limited and also my time-management skills have improved as I had to limit time on tasks to make sure I completed all my tasks on time.
I thoroughly enjoyed this programme and would do it again in a heart beat. The team were all amazingly welcoming where I expected them to just put the students to one side and lookdown on them. The work was very interesting and this experience well exceeded my expectations.
I feel extremely valued by Pinsent Masons. It almost feels like this week was an induction and that from the moment I came I felt like I was part of the team and my input and help was encouraged.
The whole process was very organised with all the supervisors knowing where to be and when to be there to support the students as much as possible.
The trainee was always very helpful for me and always offered clarity. They all let me know when I was doing a tough task so that I could get support and always let me know I did a good job and offered feedback that supported their comments.

They were always extremely happy to help even when they had lots of work to do.
I don't have a salary as I am only doing a one week work experience placement however from what I've been told, Pinsent Masons salary is brilliant and they would help out with travel costs as much as they could.
There are many experiences outside of work such as company sports teams like football, cricket, netball and hockey. The company also puts on balls for all the trainees. The company throws parties for all employees several times a year.

The atmosphere here is very productive and you can get lots of work done without getting to bored and bogged down. The standard of work here is extremely high and it gives you the opportunity to work alongside some of the leading legal teams in the country.
Try your best with the application and don't be shy if you get here. Ask as many questions as possible as you are only here a week so need to soak in as much information as possible.
