The first and second day in Projects was interesting. I was given two sets of contracts which I had to summarise and compare to familiarise myself with the format. I found this rewarding as it deepened my knowledge. I enjoyed corporate and employment because I was given real life possible scenarios. I also benefited from being in a conference call on bribery.
It gave me valuable experience to help me prepare for law. The mock trial was knowledgable and fun. I was able to develop communication skills with other people on the course and the trainees. I also enjoyed the active business discussion.
I enjoyed the programme a lot. I preferred the work completed in teams because it allowed me to develop my communicative skills within a professional environment. The experience met my expectations by giving me a great insight into how a large firm operates.
I felt valued because of the detail displayed by the trainees when evaluating my work upon review. I especially valued the one to one review of my CV because it will help me progress. The inclusion in the conference call allowed me to gain expert knowledge what I was once ignorant to.
The programme is pretty well organised. I would suggest moving the students to a different department every day to allow for the best over-view of the firm possible. Also, consider moving the mock trial to the very end of the week after lunch to close of the programme together as a group or moving it to the start of the week as a bonding exercise.
I received lots of support with multiple check ins from the training provider. The training provider rang me and emailed me multiple times before the experience to reassure me about undertaking the experience. The requirements and tips given at the start were also very useful.
I received lots of support from my employer. I was given a detailed timetable explaining the week. This informed me of the week ahead putting me at ease because I knew where I was going. Allow sometimes I didn't know where I was going because of a alteration. The tour was helpful.
It met my costs. I was given a nice free lunch which prepared me for the afternoon. I was also made welcome by being allowed to use the amenities in the kitchen. The location was easy to get to and the daily costs manageable.
Due to the snapshot of the company of one week there were few opportunities outside of the workplace. But, the information sessions provided were informative and we were made aware of multiple opportunities staff members have.
Yes
It was a great experience of a large law firm. I was given great opportunities to further my knowledge and experience. The one to one reviews allowed a specialist review of my CV which will be helpful. It was a fun experience in a great environment which I felt at ease in.
I would advice preparing a great application which not only showcases your achievements but what you as a person are like because this will help the firm create a profile of your personality and how you would fit into their company. Also, ensure correct grammar and spelling.
