I am an assistant relationship manager in commercial banking. I assist the RMs on a day to day basis with any customer queries, via email, over the phone or by fax or post. My day to day job can range from any admin work such as filing to going to customer meetings or customer conference calls with the relationship managers.
Yes, my confidence has developed via answering the phones to customers I have expanded my knowledge of banking to which I become more confident in answering further calls.
The team I work with are lovely and very supportive of the apprenticeship and understand I require a good balance between the day to day job and studying.
I feel I am valued, I feel I play a key role in the team I work with.
the program is very well structured, I have been given a week by week study plan to follow a long with online classes an assessor who I can contact all week.
I have online classes roughly every two weeks which last 3 hours in which we cover a new topic of the program. I also have an assessor to which I cant contact Monday - Friday 9 - 5 with any questions.
I gain great support from my employer, my line manager and the team I work with are all very supportive and will do all they can to ensure I understand or can do something.
My salary meets my costs quite well, its quite a nice sum for an apprentice to be on.
There are always customer meetings to attend and we do also do some charity work, and i can visit another office if i wish.
