I am an Investment Services + Fund accounting apprentice, at the moment I work in the fund accounting operations team that interact with a number of teams in the same department and from other companies. the daily tasks are to run reports and checks on investments fidelity have.
I have completed my apprenticeship college work and am onto my final CISI IOC exam. I have also developed plenty of useful day to day skills in communicating and also IT based.
the teams I have been in have made me enjoy the programme as I have met a wide variety of people and made plenty of friends. there is a friendly atmosphere and I enjoy being at work at the moment.
I feel valued as a team member with the 2 teams I have been with at Fidelity so far. I am involved in daily tasks and projects and have been getting shown new things due to the support of my colleagues.
the apprenticeship programme at fidelity is well structured. the induction and training at the start really prepares you for being in a work environment. Also a mentor and tutor is set up to help.
I have a monthly meeting with an assessor from the training provider who supports and helps with college work and queries. I also have multiple contact number if I need to contact.
I have a mentor here at fidelity who I can turn to if I need support with anything. My team and manager are my first point of contact and are very supportive.
My salary covers my costs and is generous to start with. I do not live far from the office so travel is covered and other costs. It does increase in the 2nd year but only by a little which could be a bit more due to the increase of work load.
There are various company events and activities that go on through out the year. Also the opportunity to help with Fidelity's chosen charities in the local community.

It is a great starting point to kick off a career with a friendly environment that is easy to feel comfortable in when you first join. plus the opportunities can be good.
Take the application process calmly and be yourself at the interviews. Also if successful take most opportunities you can to gain the most experience when starting.
