At Pinsent Masons I worked in 3 different departments, through my work experience I learnt what it is like working as a solicitor as well as understanding the work I would do as a solicitor and how to join this profession.
I learnt about what skills are vital in being a solicitor such as proof reading and also learnt what qualifications are needed to become a solicitor as well as understanding discovering the best path to becoming a solicitor.
During the week I worked on friendly teams, where the people around me aimed to help me as much as possible while allowing me to understand what it is like to work at Pinsent Masons. I did enjoy this a lot as it was a great working environment with a good working attitude from everyone.
At Pinsent Masons I felt like a valued member of the team as I was able to look at real cases and help to the best of my ability.
At the begining of the week we were given a timetable setting out what we would do each day, this meant I was able to plan my time and use it as efficiently as possible. We had plenty of time for meetings which allowed us to learn more about both Pinsent Masons as a law firm and becoming a solicitor and what it involves.
Throughout the week my supervisors offered me lots of helpful adivice on how to improve my CV, writing style and how best complete tasks set for me. They were very happy to help me and this helped me enjoy my wek even more.
Everyone was very happy to hel[ me and gave me a lot of guidance when I faced an issue or was unsure of what to do, or how to do a task.
During our week work experienve there was no salary, but we were provided with free enjouable meals.
Although I did not take part in any opportunities outside work they do offer a few sport clubs for out of work as well as some leisure activities, also, they have a few office parties each year.
Yes
Pinsent Masons offers a very good working environment where it easy to do the work or seek help/ advice if needed. It is also entertaining and kept my motivation high.
Be prepared to work hard and seek help when needed, don't just sit at your desk confused about a task as you'll learn how to do it by asking help and this may help you with other tasks.
