I work along side other engineers carrying out serviving and repairs, I am given small Responsibilities
Yes, when I started I knew nothing about the lift industry and through the 2.5 years I have been with Stannah have learnt a great deal but feel I need to learn more before I am qualified.
The apprenticeships is good and I have been given plenty of opportunity to improve myself with qualifications such as I am now studying for my HNC , however on the nvq side I feel there isn't enough support.
Stannah is a large company but I feel the apprenticeship programme within Stannah is highly valued as not many other lift companies provide this.
I feel there could be more support for apprentices, I do now know who is assigned to supporting me within Stannah which I think is bad and also the nvq has been outsourced and I am yet to meet a single assessor even after complying 49% of the nvq. I was not shown how to use the online system , just given a password and log in details.
Minimal. I get an email once a week and that is it, I don't know who represents me from Stannah but have had minimal or none from Stannah or the out sources company
Very minimal, I don't even know who deals with me other than my managers, for example at head office . I wouldn't know who to contact if I had an issue
I am sometime expected to travel which usually is only a small distance but over a number of weeks adds up to a lot considering my salary, I feel the wage is ok to start off with but should improve once you become more qualified such as when you finish you btec etc
I don't understand the question, opportunities for what? The qualification I gain are extremely helpful outside of work
Yes
Stannah is a good company but would recommend to go through the mate route rather than the apprenticeship.
Stannah is a good company, but is a big company and there is no personal service like other family run buisnesss
