I work as a candidate consultant for the social care team at Badenoch and Clark, one of the professional staffing Adecco brands. I look after all adults services candidates, Doing marketing calls, meetings, setting up interviews and offers, sorting out compliance
I have learnt a lot about recruitment as I had no previous experience. I have had the opportunity to go on Adecco training courses on skills such as resourcing and headhunting which have helped me be more efficient and confident in my role
I really enjoy it, it is a busy and challenging desk to work on and my team are fantastic. I have been much more involved in everything than I thought I would be
Very valued, treated as a part of the team not just the apprentice - have to attend all the same important meetings from the execs etc. I have been encouraged and rewarded along the way from both my line manager and higher up managers
In terms of as a new starter to Adecco it has been excellent. In terms of the apprenticeship, a bit disorganised with a change of tutor and multiple cancelled webinars.
I get support when I need it, she is very easy to contact and supportive.
Lots, my manager is absolutely fantastic and will answer any questions and give any help needed, will sort out any problems but also challenge me
I do struggle a bit with the costs. My travel costs me around £4500 a year. I have to live at home because I can't afford to move out and they live very far from London hence the high travel costs. As I am an older apprentice (I am 20 rather than 16-18) I would prefer to be able to afford to have more independence. I am there full time (there is no days I'm at a college or anything) so it is difficult that my salary is so much lower than the other candidate consultant on my team who does the exact same job.
Yes it is a global company so the opportunities are endless - from charity involvement to sports teams. The location is perfect to access anywhere in London and is an amazing area.
Yes
It is a great opportunity to work for such a massive global company and a fantastic way in. They are very supportive and you are treated like nay other employee not an apprentice
I did get passed around the Adecco brands which was frustrating so I would say prepare to wait and to have multiple interviews. Personality is so important in this industry so just be yourself and make sure you come across as professional and willing to learn
