I am a junior software developer, mostly, I complete QA coursework and learn new technologies. I occasionally am utilised on internal project performing small tasks now and again.
Yes, both on the job training and training courses provided by the apprenticeship provider have helped skill me in existing and new technologies.
I enjoy learning new skills, and interacting with team members. CGI has helped me develop personally and professionally, providing knowledge that is otherwise hard to come by
A close relationship with my people manager and frequent updates from my BU help me appreciate all the work that goes on in the company and helps me see how i am utilised.
The training program is fairly structured, there have been issues with the performance of the course and they have been discussed and work is taking place to help rectify these issues.
Other than the stock questions that they ask at the end of every meeting, there is not much support offered. This is also not needed as support often comes from my people manager
My employer always strive to support their employees, whether it is personal or professional, there are always ways that they support you. It ranges from meetings, to social events
It will always be nice to earn more money, sometimes, especially near holidays, money can be tight. However, they do pay enough to cover a basic living wage.
Not always, it can be expensive to join clubs etc. There are always events run but they aren't always interesting. When I'm not working, I spend time relaxing, or attempting to get ahead on my coursework
Yes
CGI is a very good company with a great social factor. they have a lot of business opportunities and always try to push you.
