Building Services Engineer The day to day can range from being involved within the engineering and design of systems to working to resolve problems that come up on site.
I have developed my CAD based skills while being on the program. I have also learnt new skills such as basic layout and design to go along with basic engineering principles.
I am currently really enjoying the program and feel like I have become a valued member of my team.
I feel extremely valued as everyone is willing to help and give their knowledge to me. I have also been given responsibility's that make me feel very valued.
The program is quite well structured and had an extensive induction scheme as well as trying to organize as many training days through the scheme as they can.
I receive quite a lot of support, this comes from mostly from my line manager and team. I also get support from the team leading the program.
I receive a lot of support from a vast network of people within the company, such as help from members of the HR team.
The salary is about average from this sort of program, however I am able to claim full travel expenses so all of the salary is mine and I do not lose any through travel.
There are a few opportunities outside of work but they can sometimes be difficult to find.
Yes
The experience I have had so far is an extreme good and positive one so I would happily recommend Laing O'Rourke to a friend.
Make sure that you read up on the company and have a basic understanding of how it works and the goals that the company sets for itself.
