The first day involved an introduction with details of what we would be doing for the next week. We were given information about the arrangements too. The first day, we had a few presentations in the morning until about 1pm. Then, in the afternoon, we were given the chance to go to a department. We were all given mostly research tasks on the department you were placed in. This was the same each day except you would swap what department you were place into. Each department would be very friendly and helpful and would always have you doing something productive. The presentations were on different topics such as entries to law or on the last day there was a mock trail. There was a really good balance between learning about how to get into law and information as well as actually doing practical tasks.
Researching as well as debating and presenting skills
All the tasks were challenging to a degree but always interesting enough to be enjoyable and always enough for you to learn from.
Everybody was incredibly helpful and if you did something wrong, nobody would say anything they would only help you.
We were given a timetable with the activities we would be doing each day and we always had a chance to prepare anything if needed (such as the mock trial)
We received a lot of help and any questions were answered. If we didn't understand anything, we would always have the chance to ask.

The atmosphere combined with the tasks was wonderful. There was so much to learn and do and it really helped give an insight into what working in a commercial law firm would be like.
Don't be hesitant to ask questions and don't be afraid about the tasks. If you don't understand something just ask as everyone is very helpful.
