I'm doing the trainee commercial manager program over 18 months. I learn section manager roles within the first 7 months. This is a great chance to get to know the company and roles within the store. It also allows you to find a department that you enjoy so you can develop your skills. On a day to day basis you are providing customers with the best service delivering business priorities, and working alongside your team to take as much money as you can!!
I am forever learning and developing. There is always help and oppertunities. Keeping a track of this is important so you can continuously enhance your skills sets.
Love the program! As long as you are committed and put everything in, you will get results.
I feel very valued everyone is so welcoming and willing to help. The management are approachable and are always happy to offer their support.
You have a set program with a booklet to work through over your 18 month period. Monthly reviews mean you're always aware of progress and have structure in the coming weeks.
You're their to learn so making sure you ask if you need support is important, the management (or any staff for that matter) are willing to help!
On the spot feedback to help you learn and improve skills plus monthly meetings with your program sponsor.
It's a good pay packet and jumps up after appointment, you just need to asses your situation if based away from home.
The staff are all friendly so you get to make good relationships and socialise outside work.
