I work in KYC (Know your customer), it is the due diligence and bank regulation that JP Morgan entities must perform in order to identify their clients and verify relevant information prior to doing business with them. The objective of KYC is to enable banks to know and understand their customers better and help them manage their risks prudently.
I have learnt a lot as I'm supported by my whole team who train me. I have also completed many online training courses which are related to my job role and other areas in financial services.
My team are really supportive and friendly. I enjoy coming to work as I learn new skills everyday and I now feel more confident in my job role. The apprenticeship program is run really well as we are given a study day where we can revise for our exam. Giving us time to balance revision with work.
We are given feedback on our performance which shows our managers are interested in our progress. As an apprentice I'm also able to help out at lots of events, including different school programs.
We were given a two week introduction where different people from JP Morgan talked about their job roles and experiences within JP Morgan (this was really interesting) The support and training is really good and I feel it is well organized.
We are able to any questions about the exam content during our lectures and can email them with any further questions we may have during the week.
I have monthly one to one meeting to discuss my progress and objectives. I feel comfortable asking any question related to my job when I need to. My team are really supportive.
I still live at home therefore I'm able to save a lot of my salary. However if I were renting I would have to carefully budget my cost of living.
As an apprentice I'm able to help out at lots of different school events. There are also many different sport activities you can get involved it as well as networking opportunities.
Yes
The apprenticeship scheme is well organized and its a great opportunity to learn and work at the same time. You get to meet lots of new people and improve your employment skills.
Try to relax when going through the interview process. Practice interview styled questions with someone and think of questions to ask as this shows you are interested.
