I am a civil apprentice and I am learning on a daily basis how to properly complete designs on highways to the correct measurements and accuracy. I am been involved in a couple of projects where I have helped complete drawings on different occasions.
Yes, I have developed my IT skills and general knowledge on a computer. I have developed my AutoCAD knowledge and skills as well and I am able to complete work to a faster pace than I used to be able to. Additionally, my confidence has massively improved.
I thoroughly enjoy working for my company, I haven't had any issues, worries or concerns, my colleagues and been friendly and have made me feel welcome and overall, the experience has been even better than what I thought it would be.
For a civil apprentice, I do feel valued in my company. I am always asked and invited to lunchtime meetings, my colleagues are always giving me work to complete to keep me busy and I am always asked on a regular basis how I am getting on with my work.
I think that I am very lucky to be on this programme as it is very well structured, I am a mentor who is keeping me on track, and the training has been excellent.
I get full support from my training provider, they are always checking on me and asking about the apprenticeship, helping me out when I am stuck and I am always approached with a positive attitude.
I also get a lot of support from my employer as well. Again I am always approached with a positive attitude, whenever I am stuck there is always support for me from my employer.
I am very satisfied with my salary that I get.
Yes, every 2-4 weeks there is always an office football match which I get myself involved with, which is great fun.
Yes
I would want my friends to get the experience that I am currently getting.
Approach with a positive attitude.
