My role consists of coding within transport modelling, communicating in my team and completing tasks, it also includes a lot of reviewing of my own work and my colleagues.
I have completely developed my skills within transport modelling, learning coding and improving my communication skills which as lead me towards professional development.
I really enjoy my programme as I am always busy and learning, I enjoy working with my colleagues because they are very supportive of me. The apprenticeship has exceeded my expectations.
I feel valued at mott macdonald as I am constantly being asked to complete tasks, I am always involved with meetings whether they are social or more formal.
I have received many training courses for my programme and what helps with that is the feedback and the communication between peers as I can receive help at any time.
I have regular meetings with my training provider to help me complete my NVQ but it does take time for me to receive replies and feedback for my work.
I receive a lot of support from my employer as I can get regular training courses to help me develop and HR have helped me with guidance for my personal problems.
I receive benefits alongside my salary which helps although my train ticket takes up a lot of my salary which is frustrating. Other than that I feel that it is sufficient.
Other than my college there is not many opportunities, there are social events with colleagues and other events. I would like outside lectures/ events of which the sector I am working in.
Yes
Mott Macdonald provides a full apprenticeship experience, what is worth it is the support I can receive to continue my professional development and also my name and CV.
Within my interview I was asked to perform a presentation of which I spent a lot of time perfecting, I instantly had a connection with the interviewer of which is now one of my colleagues. Always be yourself rather than change yourself, this will not make you happy and can affect you in the long run.
