My role is Technician support. My role includes governance work, supporting implementations, peer reviewing code and providing knowledge when applicable. I attend many IT consultation calls a day.
I have been on several training course including Teradata SQL, Hadoop Essentials and a java course. I received a certificate for the SQL course I attended and use this a lot in my role.
I enjoy my programme most days, however this is due to the team and work I am doing within my role. I feel the apprenticeship itself is very disorganised, which often leaves me feeling confused about how I will complete it. The qualification we will receive has changed several times and the specification continues to change. The course provided by learn direct is rigid and does not apply completely to my role or other apprentices role, however, our qualification is graded against how we apply the content of our apprenticeship to our role at Lloyds, therefore I believe we will find this difficult. This has been voiced several times but not addressed.
again this fluctuates. I feel valued due to the amount of training I receive and the emphasis Lloyds place in helping me succeed. However I believe that I could be given more responsibility in my role and I have voiced this many times.
as stated in question 3. The programme goal post is forever changing. Support from our Learn Direct instructor is very limited.
Support from our Learn Direct instructor is very limited.
I receive quite a lot of support from Line Manager and other people in my team. I feel I am about to ask questions when struggling with my apprenticeship or tasks in my role.
v.good
Yes. I attend work away days and external training regularly
Yes
It is an inclusive place to work where you are given the opportunity to succeed
The onboarding process is slow. I felt like a spare part for several months and it takes a while for your role to get busy. This is due to a mix of not having the correct access to perform task and needing essential training which takes time.
