I joined Lloyds Banking Group as a Higher Apprentice in Project Management. My role on a day to day basis is hard to explain as no two days have ever been the same. Project Management requires individuals to grab hold of the task in front of them and push for the best results possible. If I had to categorise my day to day role then it would be governance, reporting and planning.
By undertaking this Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management I gain a Diploma in Project Management endorsed by the APM. This qualification is fundamental to my job and is recognised by market leaders as the qualification to have. I have also been on a number of internal training courses to strengthen my communication and planning skills.
I have loved every second of my programme. It's not everyday you get accepted to work for Lloyds Banking Group. The opportunities and foundations I have been giving to progress are fantastic. The culture of Lloyds Banking Group is truly special and something you won't come across very often, the people are great and it exceeds all expectations I had of the working world.
This is a really important question and I can say categorically yes! It's not so much about having your name shouted but more being known as someone who delivers on time, works hard and can be depended on. Anything after this is the icing on the cake and something you shouldn't take for granted. My Line Manager is fantastic at telling me I have done a good job and praise like this goes a long way.
Structure for me is so important and my scheme was excellent at providing this. From the induction 2 years ago to the on-going training proves to be successful as Lloyds Banking Group are creating a new generation of Change professionals that are able to adapt and hit new heights. My team understood my Apprenticeship and supported my efforts to make it a success.
PDS/Learn Direct as a training partner have been fantastic! They have been there every step of the way and utilised there time effectively. Mots of the learning is on the job so study sessions are not as regular as you would imagine however structured well all the same. For me it was all about taking my day to day learning's and applying this to my training.
Lloyds Banking Group have been first class. As someone coming straight out of education I needed to have an employer who would guide me initially and recently let me flourish. From Managers to Head's of the support has been exceptional and there has never been a time where I haven't been listened to or given time to get my point across on any subject.
I realise a lot of young people chase the salaray rather than the career. My personal opinion is that's wrong. Why would you want to work a job that you hated just because it paid more than something you love. You will only ever successful doing a job you are fully committed to. A high salary may give you the life you think you want but we spend a lot of our lives at work so think hard before making any decision. Going back to the question Lloyds Banking Group have been extremely generous and I can't thank them enough.
Work isn't just 9-5 and within Lloyds Banking Group the culture is so strong that there is plenty outside of work to get involved with. Community Networking events are run on a regular basis, charity events are organised and even 5 a side football tames exist. Lloyds Banking Group has opportunities for all.
Yes
I always say that being a full time permanent colleague is one of the biggest reason I chose Lloyds Banking Group over other companies. The stability that it gave me was fantastic. In addition, Lloyds Banking Group are an inclusive and diverse blue chip company who I am proud to work for and I feel privileged of the opportunities I have been given.
BE YOURSELF. KNOW WHO LLOYDS BANKING GROUP ARE. KNOW THE VALUES LLOYDS BANKING GROUP FOLLOW. Don't forget interviewing 101 - know the basiss, the things employers would expect you to know as that's where so many people fall down. Don't under estimate the importance of knowing who you want to work to and most importantly why.
