I am a member of a team that operates a reporting system for the bank. I carry out the core daily tasks and assist with the reporting period to ensure everything runs smoothly for the customer.
Working in a team has developed my skills with team work and communication and I have had the opportunity to lead reporting periods, allowing me to develop my leadership skills.
The program is really varied in that is has many layers. I am able to have a respected job role which I carry out day to day while also being able to gain a qualification that is fully supported by my employer. There are loads of opportunities for development and training and external aspects to be involved with. I would like to move around the different areas of finance though as this is my first experience of a job in finance.
I feel fairly valued now, 6 months after joining. However when I first joined I felt a little bit plonked and there was very little information about the scheme before I started and in the first few months.
The program is well structured with key elements although these are not fully understood my managers and sometimes it is unclear where I can go for the information.
We have monthly calls with our assessor and she is always available via email or on the phone. It is often the case that she has to go away with questions and cannot answer them straight away.
We do not have a contact from our employer to ask questions to and very little is known about the progression through the course, even my manager is unsure.
My salary is really good and provides me with everything I need. It covers all my essentials as well as allowing me to save for future things.
I have taken part in a few events to do with work and also social events which are really enjoyable and have allowed me to meet new people.
