Manufacturing Planning Integration Engineer, attend and support daily shop floor meetings, plan resources for build and delivery of aircraft, monitor budgets and headcount
Gained project management, managing safety, first aid and fire marshal qualifications. Learnt how to use Microsoft Project. Became a STEM ambassador for the company
I enjoy the work environment a great deal as I am close the product and get to see first hand how aircraft are built. The team I work with are supportive, friendly and welcoming. Expectations have been exceeded
I feel valued to a certain extent although sometimes it is hard for people to see past the "apprentice" role. I volunteer to get involved in just about everything and sometimes have had the opportunity to do these things. I feel valued for running the apprentice website the most
Training programme is fairly structured. Induction process is informative and relevant. The assessor gives plenty of support to help with the completion of study. Most management teams are supportive and endeavour to help me achieve my programme
Assessors are very supportive and always happy to listen and help with any problems I may have, they hold regular workshops to ensure we have time to complete NVQ work
My employer is fantastic with offering support for issues I have had. They supported me through times when I have been off ill and have accommodated every way possible. Management are very supportive and understanding and ensure to accommodate with any college or nvq work I have
The salary is good and competitive but for my personal circumstances of having a child it is quite hard to manage on. It is now definitely better as we have had a pay rise though and the company do give us shares and bonuses which helps massively
There are many opportunities although as there are many apprentices we don't always get the chance to be involved in things we would like to do. The assessors do try and ensure that everyone has been involved in something though
Yes
I have worked for various different companies and I have to say that BAE Systems is above the rest by far. Their dedication to their employees is phenomenal and the incentives that staff receive for working here is a league above the rest
Take every opportunity you can! ensure to do your research when applying and going for interview. Its cliché but so many people fall at the first hurdle because they know nothing about the company - you don't need to know how to build one of their products but if you can name a few of the sites around the UK that's better than nothing!
