I am a junior Civil Engineering Technician. My daily role can vary depending on the projects I work on. I am mostly based in the office but do occasionally
I have gained my level 3 and am completing a Level 4 (HNC) whilst waiting on my NVQ to be processed. I have gained specific qualifications such as PTSi/DCCR which allows me to work on site, on Network Rail infrastructure. I also gain ICI which allows me to enter any NR and LU infrastructure under guidance.
I feel the working culture is great. I get along well with everyone I work with and I enjoy the work I do which is always a bonus. My expectations have been exceeded and I haven't been disappointed with anything majorly yet.
I feel very valued as they have continued to fund me to go to college to learn about the work whilst learning equally as much from the engineers I work wit daily.
Both my work and training programme are well structured and caters for my needs well.
Support is always available, I feel I needn't take most support as I am comfortable in what I do. Whenever I felt the need to ask for help the support was always good and solved my problems efficiently.

Considering Mott MacDonald are paying university fees for myself on top of my salary. I receive a good bundle. My salary outweighs all of the costs I have and covers additional personal costs.
There are loads of company or institution events available for me to attend. There are hundreds of social and leisure events being organised and planned for you to take part in. some are regular sporting events ( weekly football) and others are mass events (yearly sports day or paintballing)
Yes
I feel that this is a good place to work and the experiences I've had have all been positive and have helped shape me to be an up and coming engineer.
Read the application carefully and make sure you know what the question is asking. Make sure you prepare and have a background knowledge of the company and what they do. Also, having an idea of where you want to go (professional progression timeline) is always something that goes down well.
