I am an engineering apprentice, my job comprises of working on the support and management for the hawk aircraft and its customers, my average day involves answering customer quires on the aircraft and ensuring they stay in a flight worthy state
yes, I have learnt many new skills from document management to hands on skills I have gained an NVQ level 2 in engineering skills and i am working towards a level 3 in engineering support as well as doing my degree in engineering
its a great program it offers the apprentices the opportunity to work full time with experienced staff, as well as opportunities to travel and experience different parts of the company, whilst gaining recognised qualifications and skills .
I fell very valued, the apprentices are treat very well as this is their main recruitment method, they ensure you feel as much a part of the company as people who have been here much longer and that have more experience.
it is well structured there is a clear progressions route ensuring you hit all of the milestones and achieve what you need to in order to move on to the next stage of the apprenticeship. you are regularly reviewed to ensure you are on target and happy.
out training provider offers us lots of support in conjunction with our employer they hold reviews to ensure we are coping with the work and the level of work as well as being available for communication throughout the week.
lots of support is provided, you get lots of review to ensure you are safe and that all of the support is in place as well as having your performance measure to make sure that there is no issues. our assessor visits us weekly to ensure we have no problems.
very well, it has to be one of the best salaries for apprentices in the country they ensure they keep their apprentices by making sure to pay them well and have performance related increases that are easily achievable within the framework
they offer lots of opportunities outside of the work place in things such as STEM events, Career events and voluntary work in your first year helping out at a local charity for a week in the community project. also there are other programs within the company that are outside the every day job to get involved in.
Yes
it is a very good company to work for offering a competitive salary, lots of work and opportunities to work both in this country and abroad as well as being a very interesting job that engages the mind and the imagination, and providing you with lots of qualifications along the way.
when applying, think outside the box, be different and thorough they get lots of applications every year and you need to make sure yours stands out from the average application , it is obviously good to have an interest in the subject area but being passionate and enthusiastic is vital.
