Im currently working as a developer on a digital project. My daily tasks inlcude writing source and test code for applications, and working with JAVA, Scala, Jenkins and various virtual machines. I have daily meetings with my team and occassional meetings with clients. Im working in an agile environment in order to produc on online application.
I have gained certifications in Pega (certified system architect) and Scrum Methodologies (certified scrum master). I have also done Java, Unix, SQL and testing training courses- whilst learning many other technologies on the job. I have also developed alot as a person and have became alot more confident in my work.
I really enjoy working at this company, my job is interesting and keeps me engage- it is a great job role for me. I enjoy being on my team as everyone is very friendly and can all work well together. The company as a whole is great as there is a massive variety of people all with good experience, there is also a good social side and everyone
i feel very valued to the company, i am working along side alot of people who are of a range of levels with in my company and we all are doing a similar job. There is also an internal recognition scheme which i have been rewarded in a few time, this means that i feel very valued and my input is welcome.
The programme is very well structured, we had a clear introduction to get us started, along with a training course at the outset to get us ready. We then have a buddying and councellor system which can be used to support me thoughout. We also have a rigid one day a week to do college work which is very structured an beneficial.
The one day at college a week allows us to get good support and feedback all the time on our work, helping it stay to a high standard. We also have monthly meetings and reviews with VQ assesors which helps keep us ahead of schedule.
There is alot of support from mamnagers and HR as there is a big push on the apprentice scheme and we get alot of support from other staff.
The salary is very good for the apprenticeship and it is good how it increases after the first yeat, i live very comfortably off the wage which i recieve.
There is also a very good social side with regular activities and events to get involved in.
