Technology Apprentice: My day to day consists of working on various technology projects within my Business Unit. This includes a mixture of programming, analysis, project management and calls with international offices.
Apart from being able to learn several programming languages simultaneously, the main skill I have picked up has been the understanding of how technology is designed and implemented in industry, as opposed to the theoretical approach you would get if you only went to University.
I am thoroughly enjoying the programme so far! Goldman Sachs has a culture of learning and I am constantly given exposure to Technology and Finance experts from who I can learn.
I feel appreciated by my team. I was working on live projects as soon as I joined the firm and even though I am only in the office part of the week as an apprentice, I am still perceived by my peers as a fully-fledged employee of Goldman Sachs.
The training I have and continue to receive from Goldman Sachs is exceptional. I have received a mixture of technical and soft skills, as well as access to talks by business professionals inside and external to the firm. Upon joining the firm I was given a buddy and mentor to help guide me through the apprenticeship programme.
The University has allocated us a personal advisor, who holds bi-weekly meetings with us for if we have any questions/concerns and also acts as the contact between the University and work.
The level of support given by Goldman Sachs has been very good. In addition to my manager, buddy and mentor, I also have a dedicated contact in HR who is there if I have any questions. Additionally, if you ask anyone a question, they will do their best to assist you and help you out, as it is a very collaborative effort in the firm.
Competitive
I have had the opportunity to attend events set-up by third parties, which were held both inside and outside the firm. Goldman Sachs also runs a programme called Community TeamWorks, which enables us to participate in local projects. Additional to this, we also have sports teams an on-site gym and the ability to participate in the Student Union at University.

Incredible culture, first-class training and support. Overall, a fantastic company to be part of.
Be sure to showcase your love of technology and highlight the specific reasons why you want to work at Goldman Sachs.
