Software Engineer Review

I'm an application architect. I create back-end and front-end code for applications. I integrate and test the code to create web based applications.

I have learned how to use PegaSystems process commander, Java, HTML, CSS, Scala, Agile methodology and the Play Framework. I have also improved my presentation skills, communications skills and found confidence in talking to peers.

I enjoy learning new techniques when coding and learning new types of coding such as languages and methodologies. I enjoy the working with the team I have been placed with as they help my learning and let me work independently to aid me in my learning. The apprenticeship has been much more than what I expected as I have become a unique part of a team and I have learned much more than what I was expecting to learn.

Since the apprentices on our team are seen as individuals on the team, I feel valued a lot. We have our own work to choose from due to the Agile methodology and we complete our work with our colleagues relying on us to complete our work. We are treated like any other member in the team and I am very satisfied as to how I am being valued.

We receive a lot of training and support for our NVQ and College work. Our scheme teaches us information that we may use in our placements, most of which I have used and has been useful. I am happy having a reliant team on the apprenticeship team who I can talk to about the apprenticeship and can answer any questions I may have.

We receive a lot of support from our apprenticeship lead, Kerry Nash, who we can meet with if we have any problems that arise. I haven't had to have any support myself, but I am happy knowing that Kerry is there if any problems do occur.

I talk to my manager(s) a lot and have their support in anything I do. I don't like to instantly ask for their help as I like to try and fix problems myself, but when needed, they are understanding and helpful. My team has taught me a lot about the technologies that I am using and I am thankful for that.

Considering that Accenture are paying for my degree, I am happy with my current pay. When I get the pay rise in July, I will be able to afford my own transport and home as well as paying for daily and social costs, making it a very reasonable pay.

Accenture as it's own social group that send out emails informing employees about events happening. There are often sports events occurring, such as rugby, football and cricket. The teams often hold nights out too so colleagues can have a bonding session on a night out. There are also many different charity events that people can take part in and 3 days of your working year can be dedicated to charity events.

It's a key point in my life joining Accenture as I believe that they have been my main source of learning new technologies and improving my learning. I have met many friends working here, apprentices and higher, making it an extremely enjoyable and knowledgeable experience working here.

Show that you have good communication skills and that you are willing to learn new technologies and ideas. Make sure you try your best at all times.
