I am an apprentice service and repair engineer I go to college on block release and on the patch we sort issues people may encounter with their centre all heating
British Gas took me on with no previous experiance as a gas engineer they have not only developed me as an engineer but improved my interpersonnel skills
I find the programme quite intense and in depth at times and can be very hands on no two days are really the same
I feel valued in the company as an apprentice and that I matter
We follow a programme that we have not deviated from without prior warning and with our agreement it's good knowing what we are doing from one week to the next!
Our training provider takes the time to make sure we are well informed on the subject and understand fully
British Gas have been very supportive through my apprentership both on the patch and in the academy
Although apprentice wages are lower than I was earning British gas do pay apprentices well and help cover expenses
Although there is some clubs within the company these are not to well advertised to us
Yes
They have given me a great opportunity to train and have been great and supportive through the whole thing
Don't be afraid if you do not have experience they are interested in you as a person not what you know they can and will teach you all you need to know!
